Shakti's Self-Care Simpler is all about rooting, growing and blooming our inner resources so that we can remain fully present and engaged in our work and the world. We will challenge the notion that Self-Care is about removing ourselves from daily routine (i.e. vacation or spa day) so that we can recover from life. Rather, we will learn how to remain in bloom even in the midst of the day to day challenges we face.
Whole Earth Festival began in 1969 as a small art class project (“Art Happening”) on the UC Davis Quad. The students used art to teach visitors about the realms of activism, wellness, and environmental sustainability in an interactive and creative way. Following the United Nations’ recognition of Earth Day in 1970, the event was renamed to “Whole Earth Festival” and has since evolved into an enormous, free, student-run event, attracting over 30,000 visitors annually on Mother’s Day weekend.
Exact date and time TBD.
