This is an opening line in our employee manual, and it is an understated truth. Shakti Rising is a path of transformation for everyone, and it shows up intensely in those committed few who become staff.

When we started this organization, we did it with an eye to creating a vibrant, innovative community that defies traditional definitions of work- specifically, work as something compartmentalized and separated from the rest of our lives.

We are a true team, an extended family, who are committed to creating real and lasting change in our communities. We share ownership of the organization, and are extremely committed to our vision of shared power and leadership. We are also unique individuals with full, rich lives that include personal & spiritual growth, ongoing learning through school and trainings, family and friends, health, exercise, play and creative expression.
